Alex Karolyi

Alex Karolyi

As Founder and Artistic Producer of Shadowpath Theatre, Alex recently produced Vittorio Rossi’s Ontario debut of Paradise By The River at The City Playhouse Theatre in Vaughan, 2008.  She is also the producer of an ongoing series called Plays In Cafés, which features new scripts read by professional actors in cafés across York Region.  In 2007, Alex was the Festival Producer of Playwrights Of Spring and later that year became the Interim General Manager of Resurgence Theatre Company’s York Shakespeare Festival.

Playwrighting credits include Zigga, (Scripts In Progress, Theatre Etobicoke, Spotlight Theatre, Toronto Fringe Festival 2003 and The Poor Alex Theatre), Angelic Li(v)es, (The Arts and Letters Club, The Poor Alex Theatre), Astray, (The Arts and Letters Club), Deadman, (Alumnae Theatre's New Idea's Festival, Brampton's New Works Festival, The Centre for the Arts) and Broken Record (The Toronto Fringe Festival 2006). In April 2006, Alex received Second Place for her play, Ruffians in Theatre In The Raw’s 4th Biennial Play Writing Contest which was produced in Vancouver by the same company in 2006.  In 2008 she won 3rd place for Dystopia in the same contest. 

 

Peter McKinnon

Peter McKinnon

Peter McKinnon is founder/director of two production companies: Rare Gem Productions and Front Porch Theatre. As producer, his credits include the rock musical That's Life, the runaway hit of the 2003 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the award-winning Squonk Opera in Toronto and on Broadway  1998-2000. As founding general manager of Summer at the Roxy in Owen Sound, Ontario, his productions included Billy Bishop Goes to War and Colours in the Storm as well as several concert series.

Professor McKinnon is principal English editor of Theatre Words, a dictionary of theatre terminology in nine languages. He has served as president of Associated Designers of Canada and director of the Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology and currently sits on the executive committee of the International Organization of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians (OISTAT).
