Canada.
1940. After Canada officially declares war with Italy, Romano, a
recent immigrant, is arrested without charge in his own home. Romano
is held against his will with hundreds of men of Italian descent at
a prisoner-of-war camp in Petawawa, Ontario. These individuals were
never officially charged with any crime. Paradise by the River
details the struggle to preserve morality in a nation and in a time
seemingly intent on its demise.
Featuring: Alex
Karolyi, Adrian Gorrissen, Sheri Beatty, Fernando Curcione, Chris

Angelic Lives
Alex Karolyi’s original work, Angelic Lives, had audiences rolling in their seats with laughter as we follow the off-beat date between Kate (played by Sarah Grigg) and Gus (played by Bob Kostadinov) while both characters battle their precautious alter-ego’s Angel (played by Christina Nicalou) and Angel 2 (played by John Shreeve).
Angelic Lives recently also enjoyed rave reviews during its winter production at Toronto’s esteemed Arts & Letters Club. |

Margaret's Bed
Our Canadian premiere of Margaret’s Bed, by renowned playwright and screenwriter William Inge, told the sad story of two quirky strangers played by Courtney McNamara (Elsie) and John Shreeve (Ben) whose attempts to reach out to one another are inhibited by their own fears. |

In April 2003 Shadowpath partnered up with co-founder of Resurgence Theatre Company, Lee Wilson, to produce David Mamet’s controversial play, Oleanna.
Featuring Alex Karolyi and John Shreeve, the duo took on audiences for two weeks at the Corner Coffee House on Main Street in Newmarket. |

Zigga
Alex Karolyi’s first play, Zigga was featured all across the GTA, nearing the end of its run at the Toronto Fringe Festival in July 2003. EYE magazine gave the production three stars and hailed Karolyi as a ‘promising new playwright’.
The Executive Producer of the Poor Alex Theatre invited Shadowpath to continue its run of Zigga for an extended week. |
